HOW DOES DESIGN-A-HORSE WORK?

Design-A-Horse (DAH) is loaded on the first of each month!
3pm EST

Head to the DAH tab to view that month's bodies.

Five bodies, 20 pieces each, load monthly and will be available until they sell out.

There are 10 horse colors available in DAH-- 5 that are constant, 5 that change quarterly.
The colors that are always available are:
Bay
Black
Chestnut
Gray
Palomino

Current DAH Patterns are:
2022 Appaloosa
2022 Overo
2022 Splash
2022 Tobiano

Current DAH Face Markings are:
2022 Badger Face
2022 Crooked Star/Stripe
2022 Heart Blaze
2022 Large Snip
2022 Small Star

Pick an available body and wait for the builder to load.
Once loaded with a sample color and/or pattern, you will be able to select the color, pattern, face marking, leg markings, etc and build your ideal horse.
(Please note that some markings are not available with certain patterns. Ex-- Splash cannot have a face marking.)

Make sure your finish is selected and you approve of your design before checking out.
DAH options can only be changed up to 10 days after purchasing.

The illustrations are an approximate example of what your horse will look like when completed. Please know we do our best to get as close to the illustration as possible, though due to the fact that each DAH is individually hand-painted by various artists, there will be variations in coloration.

Click HERE to view DAH Horse Colors and HERE to view DAH Horse Patterns.

Currently, DAH may take up to 4 MONTHS to complete.

WHEN DO COLORS/MARKINGS CHANGE IN DAH?

DAH colors are now changing QUARTERLY (every three months.)

Patterns are changed YEARLY.
Face markings are now changing BI-YEARLY.
Leg markings do not typically change.

A last call for certain colors/patterns will be given via our social media accounts the month before they change.

Below is a comparison image of our finishes side by side.

WHERE CAN I BUY YOUR MODELS?

As we are a small company from rural Indiana, we don't have distributers like other, larger collectible manufacturers.
You can actually swing right into our Shipshewana factory!

The three ways to purchase models directly from us are--
1) Online
2) In-Person via our Factory Showroom
3) In-Person at Special Events (Equilocity, Country Fair, etc.)

WHY ARE YOUR RUN NUMBERS LOW?

With having less than 30 staff members in the entire plant (yes, this includes both factory and office staff!) we try to make things manageable for our employees so that nobody gets burned out.
Unfortunately, due to the size of our plant, it's simply not feasible to make runs of hundreds of horses.
As much as we would like to be able to produce enough models for everyone who likes one to get one, at this time, runs of
30 - 60 are the highest we can currently produce.

I HAVE AN OLD STONE. CAN YOU ID IT FOR ME?

Unfortunately, due to our limited staffing and time constraints, that is not a service we offer, nor do we offer price estimates.

We recommend checking eBay, Model Horse Sales Pages, or even various model horse Facebook groups for more info on pricing.
Our current site archives horses from 2014 to present day.

However, if you have a model that is older than 2014, head to www.stonehorseref.com!
Though not affiliated with us, this is a wonderful website for Stone identification.

WHAT MAKES STONE HORSES UNIQUE?

We are 100% American made!
From the mold to the plastic to the customization to the paint job, our horses are entirely manufactured within the United States.

The Stone Horses factory is somewhat a cross between an art studio and retail manufacturer.
While we do produce some runs in larger numbers that are designed by our in-house production staff, we also allow our
painters artistic freedom in their one of a kind (OOAK) models, Best Offer models, and short runs.

One of the coolest things about our company is that we have in-house customizers who can tear apart our plastic models and reposition them in all sorts of fun ways!
These are called Factory Customized (FCM) models.

We are the only company that provides a Design-A-Horse service where you can choose the body, color, and markings of your horse
and receive a hand-painted model that reflects your own design!

Our models are designed by hobbyists for hobbyists, and we try our hardest to create things that we think everyone will enjoy!

Our artists are not nameless, and we always give credit where credit is due!

HOW MUCH DO YOUR MODELS USUALLY RUN?

As we are in the business of making high-end collectible horses and our manufacturing is 100% US-based,
our prices reflect this.

For Stone-sized models, our base price is between $289.99 - $389.99.
Customization and complexity of color will result in a higher price.

Occasionally, we do offer discounts and run sales.
Make sure you check the LIMITED EDITIONS tab to see if we have any stock on sale.

HOW DO I ARRANGE A FACTORY TOUR?

Most of our tours are actually WALK-INS!
As long as you come by 1:30pm, you should be able to get the full factory experience.

Though we are open until 5:00pm, our factory staff leaves around 2:30pm.

If you're unsure as to whether we are open, please feel free to call.

WHAT ARE YOUR SPECIAL EVENTS?

We have several special events throughout the year. These consist of--

Stone Bowl
Stone Horse Country Fair
Equilocity
Art of the Horse
Moonlight Madness
Holiday Open House
