This month’s Rule of Three uplift important figures of the exploration of space. Carissa Mathews, Ellen Robbins, and Jess Hamill have created this group of extreme factory custom models and mini counterparts that will take you to the far reaches of the galaxy. They started out as the Irish Cob before being turned into some incredible pieces of far-out art.

Our final large model is Laika, based off of the tragic story of one of the first animals in space and the first to orbit Earth. The real Laika was a young stray dog that was sent on a one-way mission to space. Carissa repositioned the Irish cob into a cantering unicorn, galloping to far away spaces. Her legs were repositioned and hairing was added underneath her chest and belly. A thick lion tail flags behind her along with her tendrilled and custom mane. Long hairs and a beard were added underneath her jaw and she has cloven hooves. From there, Jess painted the mare in a galaxy inspired homage to her real life counterpart. Jess first painted Laika to a soft bay pinto. Scattered across her body are gold and white stars that almost twinkle the more you stare at her! Her unicorn horn is gold and finishes in a spiral. This is such a nice and unique model that will take you to the far reaches of space. She is finished in a warm light satin matte with no finish changes available.
