Enrique always creates with conscience, and this product line is his idea to shine a light on some of the world’s most fragile species that are in danger of extinction. In groups of ten models each month, Enrique will illustrate creatures from regions around the world.

For October, we are honoring the Oryx, a genus of species of antelope from the Arabian peninsula and Northern, Southern, and Eastern Africa. Its body color is a pale tan with dark markings on the face and white on the face and legs. The oryx possess two straight, large horns jutting out of its head. The Arabian oryx and Scimitar oryx were saved from extinction through captive breeding programs, and were at one point considered extinct in the wild.

The first model honoring this beautiful animal is Oryx, a decorator mural on the Arabian Mare sculpture. She features a windswept mane and tail. Enrique painted her in shaded oranges and browns to create the mural of the oryx, and included oryx-like markings on the face and legs.
