This model goes up for sale Friday September 4th at 2PM ET under New Releases.
Enrique always creates with conscience, and this product line is his idea to shine a light on some of the world’s most fragile species that are in danger of extinction. In groups of ten models each month, Enrique will illustrate creatures from regions around the world.
For September, we are travelling to the Everglades to honor the beautiful manatee with Enrique's beautiful paintjobs. Manatees are found in the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, the Amazon basin, and West Africa. They are herbivorous and feed on underwater plants and roots. They are considered vulnerable and are federally protected. Humans are the biggest threat to manatees, especially with boat activity and habitat destruction. There are numerous manatee rehabilitation centers in the United States, including three government-run facilities in Florida.
Into the Everglades is Enrique's realistic interpretation of the manatee on the Irish Draught sculpture. He features a braided mane and tail and is painted a dimensional blue roan. He also has three medium socks with shell-colored hooves, plus a thin stripe with nose pinking.
