Welcome to the world of Edgar Allan Poe, as retold by Ellen Robbins. This month we’re representing “Sonnet--To Science”. In this sonnet, Poe lamented how the marvel of science took away the magic of art. He goes through different ages and the unknowns that were discovered due to science. To depict this sonnet, we have four wonderful mules by Ellen Robbins.
On our Large Mule sculpture, we have Daughter of Time. She features a roached mane and three bells in her tail, showing she’s ready for any challenge in front of her. Ellen painted her a detailed chestnut varnish appaloosa. Her coat has roaning across her body with subtle shading throughout. She has lovely color and shading to make this such a standout piece. In the sonnet, Poe saw science as the true Daughter of Time. Ellen will make this piece a true standout in your collection.
