Join us for a fun walk down memory lane with the continuing Stone Tribute Series! 2026 celebrates 30 years of Stone Horses and The Peter Stone Company, and boy, do we have some fun surprises for you to reminisce over.
Stone has produced some iconic pieces over the decades, and we are having so much fun honoring a selection of those early pieces by revisiting them in new ways. We’re not exactly reproducing these gorgeous pieces, but rather drawing inspiration from them to create new pieces from our sculpture lineup and current production processes. Think of them as cover songs—in homage to the original.
This month we’re highlighting John Lyons’ Seattle, an Ideal Stock Horse from 2001. This dashing model highlights the long history of portrait models that have appeared across lines and events. He is a beautiful palomino with gorgeous shading to mirror his real life counterpart.
Bellevue is a meaningful homage to the original John Lyons’ Seattle (and where our own Melanie Miller is from!), brought to life on our Pimento sculpture. First, our Pimento was customized with a turned head and pricked fuzzy ears. Following the real horse’s markings, Jess Hamill painted Bellevue to a soft baby palomino with a crispy white mane and tail, along with a blaze and nose pinking.
