Originally offered in February, her auction was ended when we discovered that she’d snuck through production without a steel rod in her leg! Very Mule Behavior if you ask me. This would have made her lean forward slowly over time, so her auction was pulled until we could customize her with a clear acrylic rod in her belly for support. That is now done, so please – re-meet Baby Freya!
What’s better than a baby? A mule baby, of course! Mel took our Pimento sculpture and gave her our brand new mule foal ears, sculpted by Mel! In true Freya Fashion, they are pinned back in a concentrating serious expression. Ellen then painted her as a portrait of a baby version of Carly Kudalis’ mule named Freya. She is a mealy bay with lots of subtle shading throughout her coat. Her soft grey hooves are just the cutest! She is finished in matte and all additional finish options are available.
A portion of her sale price will be donated to The Winter Wish program! The Winter Wish is a program created by Carly Kudalis, focused on promoting mustang adoption and aiding in post-adoption success by utilizing compassionate training techniques. The goal is to help educate the public about our nations wild horses and burros, streamline information on how to adopt them, and equip individuals with the necessary tools to develop long-term bonds and partnerships with their newly domesticated animals. In doing so, more wild horses and burros will find themselves in forever homes with compassionate care takers able to assist with their individual needs, while also helping more horses move out of holding facilities out west.
