Pre-Order Shenanigans LE-30 Irish Cob by Ellen Robbins TS25

Up next in our newest product line, another fun walk down memory lane with the Stone Tribute Series! Next year celebrates 30 years of Stone Horses and The Peter Stone Company, and boy, do we have some fun surprises for you to reminisce over.

Stone has produced some iconic pieces over the decades, and we are having so much fun honoring a selection of those early pieces by revisiting them in new ways. We’re not exactly reproducing these gorgeous pieces, but rather drawing inspiration from them to create new pieces from our sculpture lineup and current production processes. Think of them as cover songs – in homage to the original.

This month, we are honoring Trouble! This rearing horse sculpture by Chris Hess was the very first produced by the Peter Stone Company back in 1996. Peter and Chris spent many years together discussing ideas for new model horses in Chris’s personal workshop in Chicago. A lovely homage to their decades long friendship, it only made sense that Trouble was among the very first sculptures to establish Peter's new business.

There was a total of 2500 made, and they were sold at the first iteration of the event now known as Equilocity, then called the Peter Stone Breakfast. This special model paved the way for decades of model horse artistry that has developed into the gorgeous models we offer today!

Presenting Shenanigans and Tomfoolery! Trouble was an innovative decorator painted faux bronze, and we have re-interpreted decorator bronze in today's look with these two pieces, one realistic and one decorator.

Shenanigans is a burnished bronze appaloosa, painted by Ellen Robbins. With a minimal blanket of appaloosa spots and light coppery shading through the tail and feathers, this model is a brilliant ode to the original Trouble. Ellen recommends a glossy finish to compliment his metallic tones.
