With the Sunday of Advent coming roughly four weeks before Christmas, an Advent candlestick is lit (a tradition dating back to the 1890's.)
Each Sunday until Christmas, a candle is lit until all four candles are alight.
Christmas is also celebrated with glögg (a hot, spiced mulled wine) and pepparkakor (gingerbread biscuits.)
